Unbelievably, the first quarter of 2018 is nearly over!
The time seems to have flown by, so Aspland Self Drive thought we’d take a moment to reflect on the year that’s been. More specifically, we’re taking a look as the top five bestselling vans of 2018 (so far!)
The following data is based on figures by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
Number Five: Ford Transit Connect
Kicking off the top five is the Ford Transit Connect, selling 2,855 models since January. This small van offers a spacious cab, while also delivering class-leading fuel efficiency. Add to this its low running cost, reliability and enjoyable driving experience, and it’s easy to see why this model proves so popular.
Number Four: Peugeot Partner
The third-generation Peugeot Partner takes fourth place with 3,019 models sold in 2018. Remarkably good value, boasting an economical engine and low running costs, it is truly a trusty companion for any motorist. Compact, light and versatile, it is the perfect choice for drivers living in urban areas.
Number Three: VW Transporter
The VW Transporter sits pretty in third place, shifting 4,292 models since the New Year. Classified as a medium van, it is a solid and reputable drive. With its super-practical cabin and wide range of models, it functions perfectly as both a functional working van or stylish lifestyle wagon.
Number Two: Fort Transit
Just missing out on the top spot, with 5,255 models sold this year, is the Ford Transit. Easy to drive and with increased cargo volume, the Transit is no stranger to the bestseller list; it claimed second place in the bestselling vans of 2017. Despite its poor payload, it boasts reduced maintenance costs and is available as an ECOnetic model, delivering higher fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions.
Number One: Fort Transit Custom
To no one’s surprise, the Ford Transit Custom easily secures the top spot. Shifting an incredible 9,397 models in just four months, it remains the UK’s bestselling van for the third year in a row. But it’s easy to see why: an excellent all-rounder with a generous load capacity, its modern looks and high-tech features make it an enjoyable drive for any motorist. Stylish yet practical, the Fort Transit will be hard to beat when the 2018 bestselling vans list is announced at the end of this year!
